vertigo, ear ache , deafness ? Options

Hello


I was wondering if any of you since being diagnosed with RA if you have sufferred
with any of the above ?

As some of you may remember I sufferred with vertigo for a long period, it has
never gone completly away and do get ear ache. Been to Spec today had mri scan to look at my inner
ear and also a hearing test. I am going to have to wear a hearing aid in my left ear.

I am 56 and think I may need to be put down. RA, use a stick, 2 catarach ops last yr,
and now hearing aid.

Just wondering if this may have happenned to anyone else ?

Aw Rose - no, not had any of that but just wanted to say sorry you are having such a bad run of things. 'Tisn't fair at all ThumbDown

Hopefully the hearing aid will really help and maybe it will be an end to the problems. They didn't suggest physio did they? A colleague at work was taught some head and neck exercises and techniques for dealing with the dizziness and said it really helped.

Hope you get a space with nothing new to deal with very soon! And that you hear about the Humira soon too XX Ailsa

hi Rose,

sorry to hear you're still struggling with the Vertigo,

not suffered with any hearing problems myself. have you got treatment for the Vertigo..?

i went for BP check at GP's this morning ... fortunately that was normal ( about the only normal thing about me at the mo .. lol Smile ) iam on BP Tablets so have to be checked every 6 months, and i trust my GP completely so also had a chat about my appointment next week where possibly i will be put forward for Anti-Tfn's ... he said to go for them, rather than try other mixes. it seems such another massive step to have to deal with.

so i'm going to listen next week and have faith in my GP, but i do feel i'm being taken over and can't cope with decisions at the moment.

i really know what you mean about being put down, hard to cope with the increasing list as well here.

hope you hear something soon as well about the Humira so that at least hopefully your RA may be controlled at last,

try and keep your chin up hard i know !!

i have it .

its is an auto iumme thing of the ear

usealy you have tinnitis with it .
i have had a big op to cure the vertio but now its done in day surgary half hour then you are out as its done .

the head exciersis never worked for me .
When deaf i would have to stay in as the vertio would start anytime
noraml hearing i would be fine

Hi Rose i too have been suffering with vertigo and tinnitus. I have had my ears looked at by an ENT specialist but with with no real conclusion as to the cause. The vertigo is, i am told caused by the ra in my neck. I wear a soft collar when i need to, sometimes the vertigo is worse first thing in the morning and i have to take my time getting up and get out of bed gradually. I have had ra for 15 years and these other aspects of the disease seem to be creeping up on me now.

I think i also need putting down as well, i am 53! and also walk with a stick.

Hi Rose,just before Christmas I had a bad bout of flu and after I got over it I was left with fluid in the ears,causing muffled hearing and it was causing me to feel giddy if I moved my head to quickly or when I bent down.The GP said it was probably a form of vertigo due to the fluid in the ears.Although my hearing is a lot better,I'm still feeling a sort of lightheadedness,especially if I move my head too quickly.In fact,I've made another appointment to see my GP on Monday.I did read somewhere that RA can cause lightheadedness due to the constriction of blood vessels in the head but not sure if that is correct. you have my sympathy!!!!!

I suffer with meniers/vertigo/tinnitus this has all happened since the sjogrens/Ra started.

i take varying doses of sec/betahistine daily to help control it

have you been given any medication to help??
